Five years before Johannes Cabal first appeared in novel form, Jonathan wrote a short story: Johannes Cabal and the Blustery Day (2004).
To date, six other short stories based on the world of Johannes Cabal have been published: Exeunt Demon King (2006), The Ereshkigal Working (2011), The House of Gears (2011), The Death of Me (2013), Ouroboros Ouzo (2014) and A Long Spoon (2014).
